Can Your Linear Guides Take the Heat?
Today linear guidance is needed in many applications especially those where high temperatures create a safety risk for workers. Industrial Ovens, Curing Stations, and many other areas present challenging situations where standard linear guide products fail frequently or don’t work at all due to expose to high temperatures. Most off-the-shelf catalog linear guides are only rated for continuous operation up to 80 deg C (176 deg F) and intermittently up to 100 deg C (212 deg F).
For OEM applications we can go well beyond this.
High temperature actuator
with special materials and surface treatment
For hot jet engine exhaust applications we designed and manufacture a custom linear actuator with about 18 inches of travel that allows for sensor data collection.
Stainless steel (17-4) structural members along with specially prepared (Raydent treatment) linear guides.
High temperature slide
with crossed roller bearing supports
For an industrial oven application we developed a linear slide product that performs well in at 700 degs F (371 deg C) continuous operation.
Special materials were required for the crossed roller bearing rails, rollers, and retainer.
Modified standard products
with metal end caps and Raydent coating
For some applications where the temperatures don’t exceed 350 deg F (180 deg C) modifications to standard rail and block type products are a possible solution. This is most popular for size 15 through size 25 products.
The polymer end caps are replace with metal and the seals are removed for each block.
